Houghton Lake Jaguars receive RCCF grant

HOUGHTON LAKE – The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently presented a $1,529.00 grant to the Houghton Lake Jaguars to purchase Guardian Caps. With the funds granted, the Houghton Lake Jaguars were able to purchase 40 additional Guardian Caps. According to GuardianCaps.com, The Guardian Cap is the leading soft shell helmet cover engineered for impact reduction.

It brings a padded, soft-shell layer to the outside of the hard-shell football helmet and reduces impact up to 33%. It is a product on the forefront of helmet technology worn by over 80,000 football and lacrosse players nationwide.

Eric Hamp explained, ‘As a program, it is our goal to make Football as safe as possible for our players. Guardian Caps, help us reach this goal.’The Roscommon County Kellogg Youth Fund ($600.00), the Roscommon County General Fund ($484.00) and the Roscommon County Tobacco Settlement Fund ($445.00) awarded the funds to support this grant.
