GRAYLING – Monday, the 8th grade Lady Vikes hosted the Ryders of Charlevoix at GHS. The Vikings came out on top 39-17 thanks to some great team play both offensively and defensively racking up 18 steals and 12 assists all together. Leading scores for Grayling were Emma Kuziel with 19 points to go along with 27 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots and Makayla Watkins with 10 points, 2 assists, 9 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 blocked shot. Contributions from the rest of the team include:
Marjorie Hair 6 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal
Mandy Andrews 2 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal

On Wednesday, February 12 that Lady Vikes traveled to cheboygan were they won their 8th game of the season with a final score of 41-19. For this game we were short handed due to illness and injuries and still managed to push the pace of the game both offensively and defensively and played together very well.
Leading scores were Kuziel with 19 point to go along with 16 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots and Watkins who had 14 points, 2 assists, 24 rebounds, 8 steals and 6 blocked shots.Other stats for the game included:
Hair 2 points, 3 assists, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal
Andrews 2 points and 3 rebounds
Lewis 2 points, 1 assist, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocked shots
Boik 5 rebounds and 2 steals
Rylan Finstrom who has been battling an injury put up 2 points, grabed 2 rebounds and had 1 blocked shot in very limited minutes
We finish our season this week with games on the road tomorrow against Traverse City St. Elizabeth and then Thursday against Cherryland of Elk Rapids.
