Vikings’ track solid at Falcons Invite

WEST BRANCH – The Viking Track Squads visited Ogemaw Heights High on April 28 for the Falcon Invite.

Coach Justin Andre said the team had some solid performances.

‘We had a solid showing at this meet, we still have a lot of work to do before Regionals but the athletes are making progress,’ Andre said. ‘Minimizing injury is key for us right now as we move into mid-season.’

Girl’ medalists include:

3. Long Jump – Kaya Preston, 13’04.5′; 1. Shot Put – Ellie Carr, 33’10’; 2. 100 Meter Dash – Alainna Moffit, 14.33; 2. 200 Meter Dash – Alainna Moffit, 28.67; 2. 400 Meter Dash – Moffit, 1:04; 2. 1600 Meter Run – Bri Martin, 5:57; 2. 3200 Meter Run – Martin, 12:48; 1. 4×400 Relay – Carlee Miller, Kaya Preston, Megan Oppermann, Moffit, 4:34; and 2. 4×800 Relay – Sarah Rockoczy, Bri Martin, Cecelia Cvitkovich, Oppermann 11:47.

Bri Martin finished second in the 1600 meter run.

Boy’ medalists include:


400 Meter Dash – Felix Vivet, 54.60; 2. 800 Meter Run – Zack Osga 2:14; 2. Hurdles – Jacopo Bersellini 16.09.
