ROSCOMMON — The Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center will host the annual Higgins Lake Sunrise Run on Friday and Saturday, June 19-20.

The event features a half-marathon race around the east side of Higgins Lake. The half marathon starts at Higgins Lake North State Park and finishes at Higgins Lake South State Park.

Race day also includes a 10K run, 5K run/walks and a 1-mile Kids Fun Run.

The Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center, based in Roscommon, serves children and families affected by abuse and neglect. The center provides a child-focused setting where families can receive support, advocacy, counseling, forensic interviews, prevention education and medical services. Events such as the Higgins Lake Sunrise Run help support that work and raise awareness of the center’s mission.
