STANDISH — Live music, dancing and summer fun return to the Standish Historic Depot this season.

The Standish Historical Depot Welcome Center will host its 2026 Summer Concert Series from June 11-Aug. 13 at 107 N Main Street in Standish.

The free concerts will be held Thursdays in from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Each concert will run about two hours.

Performing this weekend are “The Rivermen.”

Guests are encouraged to bring a chair, along with family and friends, and enjoy an evening of music at one of Standish’s most historic gathering places. Dancing is welcome.

Hot buttered popcorn, water and pop will be available for purchase.

The concerts are free, but donations will be accepted. Guests are asked to look for the Candy Canes for donations that help keep the depot running all year round.

The Standish Historic Depot has been part of the community since 1889. The stone depot was built during a time when the railroad helped Standish grow and connect with other communities across Northern Michigan. Trains once brought passengers, freight, business and visitors through the heart of town.

The depot grounds also have a long history as a community meeting place. In the early 1900s, Depot Park was known for public gatherings and outdoor concerts.

Today, the depot serves as a welcome center, museum and local landmark. It includes railroad items, depot history, local displays and travel information for people exploring the US-23 Heritage Route and Michigan’s Sunrise Coast.
