MANTON — Grayling’s boys track and field team finished second at the Manton Invitational on Friday, scoring 84 points, while the girls were eighth with 30.
Josh Aldrich, Mitchel Harrington, Dakota Martin adn Anthony Fisher combined for a time of 45.75 seconds to win the 400-meter relay.Sparty Skillern was a double winner for the Vikings, taking the shot put event with a throw of 48 feet 4 inches and the discus with a toss of 129 feet 7 inches.
Harrington picked up a win in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet 1 inch. Ethan Kucharek was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.99.James Huck finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet 9 1/2 inches and Kaleb Hall was eighth with a toss of 38 feet 8 inches and sixth in the discus with a throw of 110 feet 6 inches.
Yeng Xiong took eighth in the discus with a throw of 100 feet 8 inches. Fisher placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.63 seconds and fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.16 seconds.Tristan Demlow was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.48.
Meanwhile on the girls’ side, Rylan Finstrom led the Vikings with a first place in the discus with a throw of 128 feet 1 inch and a second place in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet 4 inches.
Robin Long contributed a third place in the discus with a throw of 97 feet 2 inches.
