GRAYLING – The Grayling Middle School 8th Grade girls’ basketball team moved to a record of 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins over Kalkaska and Harbor Springs.

Monday, February 3, the 8th grade Lady Vikes hosted the Blazer of Kalkaska. The Vikings came out on top with a final score of 56-22. It was a great defensive game and the girls did a wonderful job of sharing the ball offensively. Stats for the night included:

Emma Kuziel with 21 points to go with 2 assists, 12 rebounds and 1 blocked shot.

Rylan Finstrom added 10 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots.

Makayla Watkins with 8 points, 3 assists, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 blocked shots

Lilly Odden with 8 points

Amanda Lewis 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal, and 5 blocked shots

Edie Boik 2 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound, and 2 steals

Marjorie Hair 2 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot

Shelby Swander with 4 rebounds

Wednesday, the Grayling girls traveled to Harbor Springs where the VIkings defeated the Rams 33-6. The leading scorer for the Vikings again was Kuziel with 12 points to go with 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. Other stats on the night were:

Finstrom with 9 points and 10 rebounds

Odden with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals

Watkins 2 points, 3 rebounds, 6 steals, and 1 blocked shot

 Mandy Andrews with 2 points and 2 steals

Lewis with 1 assist, 1 rebound, and 2 steals

Boik with 1 rebound and 1 steal
