HALE – Spring is certainly flying by and summer is just around the corner, with that brings the 7th Annual Run Like Hale race!  Run Like Hale race is scheduled for July 27, 2019, at 8 a.m., with locations remaining the same for the start and finish lines near the Long Lake boat launch on Kokosing Road in Hale.

Co-race directors Jenifer Pfaff, Janeen Clark and Tina Gamino hope to continue to grow the race each year, acquiring more participants, sponsors and volunteers, while increasing the fund-raising efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This wonderful organization supports research for a cure, along with support for patients and their families.  The 2018 fundraising efforts yielded $2,400 (after costs) being donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, slightly less than prior years due to added costs attributed to the event, i.e. Liability Insurance coverage and the chip timing tags to name a few.

Last year’s newly added feature, the “0.0K”, was a hit and will continue to be an option this year.  You may ask yourself, “what is the 0.0K feature?”  Well, if you are unfamiliar, this option recognizes participants that make a monetary donation without running or walking the 10K.  Yet, you receive a t-shirt and bag just the same as all runners and walkers do.  What better way to support this amazing event without having to put your stride into it.  As well, we are pleased to announce, we will continue with the utilization of the chip timing tags to ensure the most accurate race results.

To pre-register you can go to www.runlikehale.org .  To alleviate delay while picking up your race package, it is important to be sure to click the wavier box within the registration online.

You may pick-up your pre-registered race package or register for the race via one of the following:

  • Friday, July 26, 2019
    • 5-7 p.m.

  • Saturday (race morning), July 27, 2019,

We look forward to seeing your smiling faces at the starting line!
