Richard Allan “Dick” Brown, age 90 of South Branch, MI, passed away on November 3, 2025, in East Tawas, MI. He was born on June 30, 1935, to Allan and Verneice (Pallister) Brown in Detroit, MI. After high school Richard worked several jobs including custom painting and bodywork on cars before joining the Army. He proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in 1960. Richard continued his education, taking college courses until going to work as an Assessor for Iosco and Macomb Counties. He married the love of his life, Martha LaVere “Vera” Rennix on June 21, 1963, and shared over 58 wonderful years together. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and loved having a good time with friends and family.
Richard is survived by his daughter, San (Jim Kosloskey) Brown; sons, Bill (Sue) Brown, Michael Brown, Rob Brown, grandchildren: Bryan (Jackie) Brown, Jake Brown, Keith (Shannon) Simpson; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Addison, and Emma Simpson; and many nieces, nephews, & friends. Richard is preceded in death by his wife Martha, his parents, and his sister Betty Mae. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale, MI. Visitation will begin at 1:00 with the funeral at 2:30pm. Military Honors will be presented at the closing of the funeral.
