Rosemary Borchert, 94, of Houghton Lake

Rosemary Borchert, 94, of Houghton Lake, passed away on Saturday May 23, 2026 at home with her loving family by her side.

Rosemary was born on January 30, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Edwin and Mary (Walker) Adair. She grew up in the East Lansing area and graduated from East Lansing High School.  Rosemary worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell Telephone following high school. While working at Michigan Bell, Rosemary met a young man named Richard Charles Borchert.  On November 25, 1959 in Lansing, Rosemary was married to Richard. After their marriage, Rosemary was a homemaker and busy mother. The couple moved permanently from Lansing to Houghton Lake in 1986, where they spent the rest of their lives at the cabin they had owned since 1958.  Rosemary was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Evangelical Lutheran Church, 241 W Federal Hwy, Roscommon, MI.  She enjoyed sewing, plants, and flowers, especially her lilacs, roses and African violets.

Surviving Mrs. Borchert are her five daughters,  Lori (Deni) Martin of Livonia, Mi, Cynthia Jensen of Alhambra, CA, Cathleen (Patrick) Stevens of Battle Creek, IA, Cynthia (Ronald) Partlo of Lansing, Mi, and Texas, and Debra (Ken) Styburski of Cheboygan, Mi; son, Timothy Borchert of Houghton Lake, Mi; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Marion Smith of Johnson City, TN; several nieces and nephews.  Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Charles Borchert; Brother and sister-in-law, Edwin Lee(and Jean) Adair; and daughter-in-law, Chris Borchert.

Celebration of Life Services for Rosemary Borchert will be conducted at 11:30am Saturday July 25, 2026 from Shepherd of the Lakes Evangelical Lutheran Church, 241 W Federal Hwy, Roscommon, MI. Memorial contributions in memory of Rosemary are asked to be directed to Shepherd of the Lakes Evangelical Lutheran Church, 241 W Federal Hwy, Roscommon, MI 48653.
