Linda Kay (Berkimer) Secord, age 73, passed away on Friday, May 23, in Gladwin, MI.
Linda was born on October 29, 1951, the eldest of seven children to Lloyd “Berk” and Norma “Mickey” Berkimer in Jackson, MI. After graduating from Dewitt High School in 1969, Linda went on to study Child Development at Lansing Community College. She dedicated many years of her life to being a beloved preschool teacher and developed many lasting relationships, as she left an enduring impression on everyone she met.
Linda was married to Richard M. Secord for 53 years. Together, they raised four children; Mike (Liza), Nicki (Nick Gonzalez), Dan, and Katie Secord. They purchased their retirement home on Lake Secord in Gladwin, MI in 2018 and enjoyed being surrounded by their grandchildren, Kyla, Zane, and Caden Mozingo, and Gavin Davis.
Linda was proceeded in death by her grandparents, parents, brothers Chuck, Keith, and Greg Berkimer and son Mike Secord. She is survived by her husband Rick Secord, sister Ann (Barney) Kosloski, brothers Randy (Jackie), and Pat Berkimer, remaining children, grandchildren, and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Linda was also looking forward to meeting her first great-grandson. Linda will be remembered for her warm spirit, fierce love for her family, and her special fondness for sunflowers!
