Sheryl L. McLean

Age 78, of Twining, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2026. Sheryl was born on December 19, 1947, to the late Norman and Viola (Heidenberger) DeShano, in Bay City, Michigan. She grew up in the Whittemore-Prescott area and following her high school graduation, Sheryl obtained an Educational Specialist Degree. She worked as a teacher and an educational specialist, and held jobs at Whittemore-Prescott Schools, Maple Valley, and Pearson Education until her retirement in 2012. Sheryl has been a resident of Twining, Michigan, since 1974.

On August 1, 1970, she married the love of her life, Alan McLean. The two shared 56 years of marriage together taking on life and raising a family of three children. Sheryl loved her family more than anything, and spending time with them was her favorite thing to do. Some of her other favorite hobbies consisted of working on her flower garden, making memory bears, going golfing, and playing Mah Jong. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be missed dearly by many.

Sheryl is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alan McLean; children, Reed McLean and Collin (Katrina) McLean; sister, Carol (Don) Kerswell; grandchildren, Avery Eller and Charles McLean; and four nieces. In addition to her parents Norman and Viola, Sheryl is preceded in death by her daughter, Allison DeShano McLean.
