Jeffrey A. Raybourn
Age 54, of AuGres, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly, on March 15, 2025. Jeff was born to Boyd and Joyce (Rice) Raybourn on February 17, 1971, in Flint, Michigan. At a young age, Jeff’s family relocated to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He spent the remainder of his childhood in Van Buren, Arkansas. Jeff was a proud graduate of Van Buren High School. Following his high school graduation, he took some classes at a community college before he enlisted himself into the United States Marine Corps in September of 1991. Jeff spent four years proudly serving his country, and he took great pride in being a Marine. While in the Marines, he attended boot camp at Camp Pendleton, becoming a “Hollywood” Marine in Platoon #1037. He was a member of the Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He worked his way up through the ranks and ended his military career as a Corporal in 1995.
Following the Marines, Jeff returned home to Arkansas where he attended Arkansas University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering and Computer Science. In the early 2000’s, Jeff relocated to Oscoda, Michigan, where he resided until 2015 when he moved to AuGres.
He married the love of his life, Ann (Skiba) Raybourn, in Elk Rapids, Michigan, on December 31, 2024. The two had the opportunity to spend 10 amazing years together before they were married. It was a love that was second to none. They often would take road trips traveling around the state and country with each other, making memories that will last a lifetime. Jeff loved to sit down to a nice meal and a glass of wine with his princess, and would consider that to be his “happy place”. With the help of Ann, Jeff even turned into a big Red Wings and Michigan State Spartan fan! It was an unconditional love that the two shared, and he was so proud to have Ann in his life.
Jeff worked in IT Sales for CBIZ. He was very knowledgeable in the field of technology, and he used his expertise to help businesses nationwide. Jeff and Ann also were owners of “Cozy Cup Coffee Roasting Company” located in East Tawas, Michigan. He really enjoyed roasting coffee and serving the community. There was nothing that brought him more joy than being able to do that with his family.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman, displaying a love for hunting, both firearm and archery, and fishing. He spent hours on the river wading, as fly fishing was a passion, even mastering the craft of tying his own flies. He would spend time with Ann both on the cross country ski trails and on the golf links. He enjoyed listening to his classic heavy metal music. He was resourceful, taking a stab at many hobbies over the years, from house crafts to rock climbing, surfing, playing cards and cribbage and most recently, making maple syrup. Jeff was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rack & Spur Club. His charisma and sense of humor lit up every room. He was a passionate and loving man who was dedicated to all those he loved. Jeff will be dearly missed by many.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Ann Raybourn; children, Ethan Raybourn and Axel Raybourn; stepchildren, Emma Brownell and Elle Brownell; mother, Joyce (Bill Wamsher) Raybourn; sister, Annisa (Mike) McAllister; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Skiba; and nephew, Landon (Megan) McAllister. His best buddy and little Devil Dog, Sophie will be lost without him. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Boyd Raybourn; his grandparents; and his father-in-law, Charles Skiba.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in AuGres, Michigan, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The family will welcome the public for visitation at the church from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. There will be a luncheon following the service, with a burial and military honors to follow at 3:00 PM in Sims-Whitney Cemetery. Any memorial contributions may be directed towards the family.
