Janine Mead, 64, of St. Helen

Sandra Janine Mead, age 64, a beloved member of the St. Helen community, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI. She was born on February 28, 1960, in Ypsilanti MI to Wilburn and Elizabeth (Ellison) Caudle.  She lived in St. Helen, MI for over 50 years, formerly of Northville, MI.

On September 16, 1989 she married Harry Mead in St. Helen.

Janine was a dedicated individual who touched the lives through her various roles in the community. She graduated from Roscommon High School in 1979 and went on to serve as the secretary and treasurer for VFW #5680 Auxiliary in St. Helen. Additionally, Janine held the position of trustee at St. Helen Helping Hands, demonstrating her commitment to supporting others.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Janine found joy in playing bingo and cards. Her passion for collecting shoes was well-known among those close to her, as she amassed a remarkable collection of over 200 pairs.

Janine is survived by her husband Harry Mead of St. Helen; her fur babies Tippy and Kit, as well as her sister Linda Glennie of White Lake, MI, and sister-in-law Carol Caudle.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will carry on her memory with love and admiration.

Preceding her in death are her parents, along with her sisters Carolyn Page and Susan Caudle, and brother Ronnie Caudle.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Janine’s impactful life will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the St. Helen VFW #5680 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
