Gerald Wright, 96, of West Branch

Gerald Wright, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in West Branch, MI, at the age of 96. He was born on January 27, 1928, in Sandusky, MI, to Charles and Myrtle (Bowlby) Wright. He has lived in West Branch since 1993, formerly of Rogers City and Luzerne MI.
 
Gerald had a fulfilling career at Marlette Homes. He was known for his dedicated work ethic and commitment to his profession. Gerald graduated from Sandusky High School, instilling in him a love for learning that he carried throughout his life.
 
Outside of his professional endeavors, Gerald was a vibrant and social individual who found joy in spending time at the West Branch Senior Center. His warm personality and kind spirit endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
 
In his leisure time, Gerald pursued various hobbies that brought him immense happiness. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and exploring the great outdoors as an avid outdoorsman. Gerald enjoyed traveling around the Upper Peninsula and indulged in the thrill of metal detecting as one of his favorite pastimes.
 
Gerald is survived by his sister Fanny Chappel of Marlette, MI; brother Elwood Wright of Lapeer, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, siblings Ben, twin Geraldine, Mary, and Wilma.
 
A private burial service will be held at Luzerne Cemetery – Big Creek Township in Luzerne, MI. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Gerald will be remembered for his gentle nature, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by those who knew him best. May he rest in peace.
