Linda Kern, 67, of Gladwin

Linda Diane (Ladner) Kern, 67, of Gladwin MI, ran into the arms of Jesus, May 15, 2024. On April 18, 1957, Linda was born to John and Madonna (McKimmy) Ladner in Gladwin, MI. She was raised with her three brothers, (Jim, Dan and Tom) in Beaverton at 111 Saginaw St.

Linda loved riding her bike, babysitting and making new friends. After working for some time at Beaverton’s IGA Supermarket, she saved enough money to buy a light blue Camaro. She washed that car almost every day. Linda met John Kern at Mid-Michigan Community College while they were seniors in high school in 1975, and they have been together ever since. John and Linda were united in marriage in Gladwin at her beloved Grace Baptist Church on April 12, 1980.

Linda had a gift of listening to others and being a prayer warrior for them. She was diagnosed with MS at the age of 22, but she never let that discourage her. She was a fighter and the strongest woman we’ve ever known. She may not have been able to function as most people that visited her, but she always gave them inspiration, amazing counsel and shared the good news of Jesus with them.

She took great joy in having a family. John, Clint and Autumn were so very loved and cared for by Linda. The depths of our sorrow cannot be fully understood by others, because we loved and cherished her so much because of how she loved us. Even though we will miss her immensely, we also rejoice in the fact that she is in heaven and is suffering no more.

Linda is survived by her husband, John Kern, their two children, Clint (Susan) Kern of Clare, MI and Autumn (Kevin) Blaesser of Saginaw, MI. Her Grandchildren Joe & Maggie, Michael and Stephanie, James, Lilly, John, Molly, Jacob, Abby, Zac, Olivia and great-grandchild, Cora. Other survivors are her mother, Madonna Sherlock and Bob. Her brothers, Jim (Pat) Ladner and Tom (Chun Ye) Ladner.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Ladner and her brother, Dan Ladner.

Funeral services to honor Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at McClure Cemetery, Gladwin.
