Sharon Jarrell, 70, of Hillman

Sharon went home to be with Jesus on April 6, 2024, after a brief illness. Sharon Lee Jarrell was born in Madison, West Virginia on April 28, 1953, to Frances (Windland) Jarrell and Johnny Jarrell, who both preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 9 children: Betty White, Harold Dean, Norma Jean, Dolores Jones, Joyce Ann Jarrell, Alice Peters, Linda Stepp, and Kathleen Smith (who cared for her baby Sissie for many years). Sharon had a son, John Wayne Jarrell, who died at the young age of 26, whom she missed till the day she died. She has many nieces and nephews.

Sharon moved to northern Michigan (Atlanta) in November of 2016 to be near her niece and caregiver, Tammy Jones. In 2021, she moved to Medilodge of Hillman, where she developed many friendships with the staff who treated her more like family than a patient. She was blessed to live in a facility that not only cared for her personal and medical needs but also were dear to her heart. She enjoyed bantering with them and “supervised” their care of her.

Sharon is being cremated and inurnment of ashes will be at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan, next to her son, John Jarrell. A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
