Wadea ‘Dee’ Parkinson, 87, of Gladwin

Wadea “Dee” Parkinson, 87, of Gladwin, passed away on March 21, 2024. She was born on January 20, 1937, in Lansing, Michigan, to James and Eva (Hewlett) Henderson. On January 2, 1976, she married Ron Parkinson, who preceded her in death in 2019.

Dee dedicated many years of her life to working at Meredith General Store until her retirement. She found joy and embraced all the amenities that Gladwin County had to offer. Dee had a passion for fishing, hunting, and flowers. Even the simple act of shoveling snow in the winter brought her happiness, as it provided her with exercise and a sense of accomplishment.

Dee’s greatest joy was spending quality time with her friends and family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever.

Dee is survived by her children: Eve Reardon, Lenny McDonald, and Mickey McDonald; her grandchildren: Lenny Jr., Dusty, Trevor, Krystal, and LeeAnne; her great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Brogan, Waylon, Ryatt, Cameron, and one on the way; as well as her brothers: Wayne (Sandy) Henderson and Bob (Ruth) Henderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Ron, and her cherished fur baby, Tuffy Dog.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Dee’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
