Tony Lewandowski, 90, of Glennie

Anthony “Tony” Lewandowski, age 90 of Glennie, MI., passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 in Rochester, MI. Tony was born on December 17, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI., to the late Anton and Mary (Golba) Levandoski. His birth certificate changed his legal name to Lewandowski.

Tony was a longtime resident of Glennie, MI., and former resident of Utica, MI. He was a graduate of St. Clement School in Centerline, MI. Tony served in the United States Marine Corp from 1952 – 1955. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. Tony worked for General Motors at the Technical Center as a supervisor eventually retiring in 1987. He was a dedicated Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed watching most sports. Tony belonged to the American Legion in Oscoda, MI., and the Marine Corp Association.

Tony is survived by his children, Sandy Steele (Mark), Susan Fry (Michael) and Anthony; sister, Jeanette, and five grandchildren; Amy Steele, Ashley Steele, Brendan Fry, Jennifer Fry and Nicholas Lewandowski.

Per Tony’s wishes, he will be interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
