Paula Jo (Van Allen) Engle, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 23, 2024. She was born on January 26, 1954, in West Branch, MI to Ervin and Maria (Kinney) Van Allen.
Paula married the love of her life, Steven C. Engle, on April 11, 1975. She was a homemaker, volunteered with the Whittemore Area Chamber of Commerce for 16 years, ran bingo weekly, and set up the annual Memorial Day Parade and other events for many years. She was a mom to not just her children but many more and “Aunt P” to a lot of people. She cared deeply for all who came into her life. Her heart was huge and filled with never-ending love.
Paula is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven; her children, Buffy Engle of Marcelona, Christy (Rob) Neaher of Whittemore, Steven (Chantel) Engle Jr. of Whittemore; sister Betty Sells of Whichita Falls; grandchildren, Erika, Dwayne, Cassie, Austyn, Jordan, Kailee, Dylan, and Hannah; 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Silverthorn, father Ervin Van Allen, sisters Micki Allen and Gloria Worthington, and brother Mikel Van Allen.
Per Paula’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
