Marsha DeAugustine, 76, of West Branch

Marsha Corinne DeAugustine passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 11, 2024, in her home in her own bed. Her husband, Lawrence (Larry) John DeAugustine, and her close friend, Lori Krumm, were home with her. Born on November 20, 1947 to Lawrence and Ilse Wilson, Marsha lived an amazing life.

After traveling the world as the young child of career-soldier Lawrence, Marsha settled down with her parents, brothers Les and Brant, and sister Carla in South Vienna, Ohio where she lived until graduating high school and heading to Morehead State University in Kentucky. There Marsha met and fell in love with Larry. They dated throughout their college careers and married on August 17, 1968, living the rest of her life together through sickness, health, trying times and happy times.

Marsha spent her professional life teaching public school. She devoted her personal life to her family, raising sons Bryan and Brett, and daughter Corinne. Marsha loved being outside, especially in the woods of the Midwest and the mountains of the Rockies. She was a voracious reader, debater, political junkie, and Euchre card sharp.

Marsha leaves behind an amazing legacy in her devoted husband Larry, their kids, and their kids’ families. Bryan and Heather DeAugustine have a daughter Bailey and a son Jackson. Brett and Melissa DeAugustine have daughters Cadence and Kyra, and son Ayden. Corinne and Joe Heffron have daughters Elaena and Gwynevere, and sons Grayson and Sloan. Marsha is survived by her brothers and sister and their families; Les and Lisa Wilson, Carla and Colin Johnson, Brant and Kim Wilson. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Ilse Wilson.

Those of us left behind will remember Marsha when we enjoy a beautiful day outside, gaze up at a darkening night sky filled with stars, and hear her in the wind singing John Denver’s lyrics, “Go home, said the man in the moon, go home. Because it’s getting sort of late, and I’ll soon turn out my light. Go home, said the man in the moon, go home.” We love you and we will miss you.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Friday, March 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
