Charles M. Hoef, age 69, of Turner, MI passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at his home.
He was born on April 10, 1954, in Flint, MI to the late Charles and Susan Hoef (McCalla). Chuck graduated from Bentley High School in 1972. On June 17, 1978, he married the love of his life, Renee Hoef (Reed). Together they moved to Millington, MI. Chuck worked for GM at AC Delco until moving to Turner in 2000. Then, he transferred to Bay City Powertrain until retiring in 2006, after 33 years of service.
Chuck’s second love in life was fishing, most often at the nearby “Singing Bridge.” He thrived in the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, morel hunting or watching the birds at his many feeders. He enjoyed his grandchildren playing sports or when they came up to fish in his pond. Chuck enjoyed attending Twining Baptist Church occasionally with Renee. If you knew Chuck well, you know he had a sense of humor that was not obvious to everyone. You may have also known, there was a teddy bear under his hard, tattooed exterior.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 46 years, Renee. Daughter Cherri Holmes, including grandchildren; Dylan, Bret, and Reese Holmes of Millington, MI. Son-in-law Rick Milostan, including grandchildren; Chase, Brooke, and Collin Milostan of Millington, MI. Brother Fred Hoef, of Illinois. Sister Cheryl (Keith) Arbuckle of Alden, MI. His beloved German Shepard, Lola. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and in 2018, his daughter, Kandace Milostan.
