Tisha Lee Wright, age 44, of Roscommon, died after a long and courageous battle with colorectal cancer, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at home in the presence and comfort of her family.
Tisha was born March 31, 1979, in Petoskey, Michigan, the daughter of Richard and Alice (Schwartzfisher) Dunkel. She graduated from Petoskey High School in 1997, and from Western Michigan University in 2003, with a bachelor’s degree. She spent most of her career in the medical field. Tisha was united in marriage with Robert Wright on August 9, 2014, and moved to Roscommon in 2016. Tisha was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Roscommon. Tisha enjoyed many things in life. She liked having bonfires, going to the beach, boating, canoeing, side-by-side riding, making greeting cards, painting, as well as other arts and crafts, golfing, watching sports, fantasy football, gardening, doing her nails, and finding seashells…just to name a few. Most importantly, Tisha loved spending time with her family and friends.
Tisha was a loving wife and best friend to her husband, Rob. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend. She loved her family dearly and will truly be missed by all that knew her. Tisha is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Wright of Roscommon; parents, Richard and Alice Dunkel of Petoskey; sisters: Shavonne (Lyle) Stoner and Holly (Patrick) Malewitz; nephews: Matthew Ingalls, Nicholas Stoner, Luke Malewitz; nieces: Olivia Ingalls and Tori Malewitz; several cousins and many friends; and not to forget her cat, “Macaroon.”
Family and friends will gather from 6:00-8:00 PM, with the Rosary at 7:30 PM, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, also with a gathering an hour prior to Mass, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 104 North 6th Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.

If so desired, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Tisha’s name to the Imerman Angels, St. Michael Catholic Church, or to Heartland Hospice of West Branch.
