Helen Copeland

Helen Mary Copeland, age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at The Brook in Roscommon, MI. She was born on December 8, 1933, in Au Sable Forks, NY, to Edward and Florence (Cusson) Dennett. She lived in St. Helen, MI since 1982 formerly of Warren, MI.

Helen was a dedicated member of the St. Helen Community Baptist Church. She found joy in volunteering during the Christmas season as Mrs. Santa Claus and was an active member at Birch Point Golf Club in St. Helen.

In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, making quilts, crafts, bowling, walking, swimming, and golfing. Her vibrant spirit and love for life touched all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving stepdaughter, Janis Wambold of Mt. Clemens, MI; 6 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Ann (William) Schlotter of Fredericksburg, VA; brothers: John Dennett of Lake George, NY, Albert (Elizabeth) Dennett of Hope, ID, and Paul (Barbara) Dennett of Shalimar, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Claud Copeland 2003; son, Daniel Lee Sentell; stepdaughter, Patti Smith; grandson, Jason Munger; sisters, Mary Faith Moriarity, Florence Bombard, Jean Paradis, and Donna Levesque; and brother, Michael Dennett.

Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, starting at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate the service, and burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen.

Helen will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
