Grace Alice Colburn (Atkinson), 83 years of age, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in her home in East Tawas, Michigan.
Grace was born on December 2, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Helen and Arthur Atkinson. She was the oldest of three children and survived by her sister Barbara Atkinson and her brother Arthur (Pat) Atkinson.
Grace married the late Earl Colburn in 1960 in Tawas City and had five children: Andrea (Kevin) Martin, Anna (Allen) Cogan, Annette (Peter) Eckenrod, Earl (Jen Layman) Colburn and preceded in death by baby boy Earl Arthur Colburn. They lived in East Tawas their entire lives and were proud members of Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked for many years for Starboard and Tawas Industries before retiring.
Grace was an avid reader and loved traveling across the US with her husband Earl where they made countless memories together that she cherished. She loved hosting parties for her family and close friends including her 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, with a date to be determined soon. She will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas next to her husband.
