Florence J. Keeler, age 84, of Roscommon, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Florence was born on April 1, 1939, in Oscoda, MI , the daughter of Harry and Edna (Knuth) Elliott.
Florence married James Keeler on August 2, 1958 in Roscommon. They shared 40 years together until he passed in 1998. She was employed by Roscommon County for over ten years, and was a lifetime member of Beacon Assembly of God Church in Roscommon. She also operated a foster care home for many years.
Florence will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Dori (Doug) Keene of Roscommon, son; Harry (Lydia) Keeler of Tennessee, grandchildren; Jennifer Keene, Jessica Keene, James Keene, Justin Keene, Tyler Keeler, Johnathon Stever, Trent Keeler and Joshua Keene. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Florence is preceded in death by her daughter Virginia Stever, brother Charles Elliott, sister in law Trudy Elliott and great-great grandson Zhain Keene.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beacon Assembly of God Church. Friends may gather with the family at the church beginning at noon.
