Cora Caroline Oosterhof, aged 97, peacefully passed away on February 2, 2024, in Roscommon, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 10, 1926, in Farmington, MI. On December 16, 1950, Cora married her beloved husband, Norman, and together they built a beautiful life in Royal Oak, MI, raising their three children. In 1957, they acquired a charming cabin in Roscommon, which became a cherished getaway where they nurtured lifelong friendships and enjoyed countless weekends, summers, and holidays exploring the lake and embracing the snowy surroundings. In 1986, they followed their hearts and permanently settled in this beloved area.
Cora’s deep passion for supporting veterans and community service found a home at the VFW, where she and Norm became invaluable members. Known for her unwavering love and care, Cora was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She provided comfort to those in need, lending a listening ear, a supportive shoulder, a warm hug, or a lighthearted joke. Her greatest source of joy came from spending time with her family, and she exuded fun, laughter, and boundless love in all her interactions. Cora was a true friend to everyone she met.
Cora is survived by her children, Jim (Mary) Oosterhof of Seattle, WA, Connie (Tom) Allen of Roscommon, MI, and Dan (Janice) Oosterhof of Grayling, MI, along with her two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norm.
Family and friends will gather from 1:00 PM until the time of the Funeral at 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.
