Bob Coleman, 86, of Standish

Robert “Bob” Erwin Coleman passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, in Standish, Michigan. He was born on October 4, 1937, in Bay City, Michigan, to parents Robert Coleman and Mary (Verellen) Coleman. Bob’s life was a testament to the values of love, hard work, and dedication.

Bob’s life began as the eldest son in his family, growing up alongside his brother, Richard Coleman, and his late sister, Barbara Cook. In 1958, Bob married the love of his life, Sharon Schultz, in Saginaw, Michigan. They were married for 53 years when she preceded him in death. Bob worked as a journeyman pipefitter at General Motors for 34 years until his retirement. Outside of work, Bob was a man of many interests. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer, upland birds, and trout fishing. He also had a passion for history, particularly the events of WWI and WWII.

Bob is survived by his two children Robert (Jan Conner) Coleman and Marti (Patrick) Herman; five grandchildren Melissa, Jeremy and Tiffany Coleman and Megan and Michael Herman; two great grandchildren Devontae and Jamarion.

Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. The family will have a private memorial.
