Sandy Arendt, 77, of Houghton Lake

Sandra Kay Arendt, 77, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday January 14, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

Sandy was born on January 26, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan to William and Constance(Butler) Bell. She grew up and lived in the Evart and Lansing areas before moving to Houghton Lake in 1983.  In June of 1983 Sandy married Richard Arendt in Houghton Lake.  The couple own and operate Poplars Resort and Campground on Houghton Lake.  Sandy also had worked at ERA Realty in Houghton Lake. She was a member of the Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce and was active for many years with the Boy Scouts. Sandy’s special love was flying down the road in her vette. 

Surviving Mrs. Arendt are her loving husband of 40 years, Dick Arendt of Houghton Lake; son, Rodney Stark of Lansing; daughter, Sarah Allen of Potterville; step daughter, Stacie Arendt of Fowlerville; step son, Steven (Terry Lynn) Arendt of Manistee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tony (Deb) Bell of Mulligan;  nieces and nephews.  Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tina Lake; and brother, Melvin Bell. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Sandra Kay Arendt will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Sandra are asked to be directed to the family.
