Marian Parkinson, 86, of Grayling

Marian Jean Parkinson, 86 of Grayling, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 24, 2024 at The Brook of Grayling.

Marian was born February 13, 1937 to LeRoy and Virginia (nee Skingley) Millikin in Grayling, MI. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Marian was a wonderful wife and a beautiful, loving mother. She loved and cared generously for her whole family. She was a great friend to many and she will be deeply missed by so many people.

Marian is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Parkinson; children John (Deborah) Ludeman and Jana (Charlie) Pniewski; step-children Thomas (Leila) Parkinson and Michael (Kimberly) Parkinson. 

Grand-children, Stephanie (Mike) Vargas, Dustin (Jason) Ludeman, Bailey Pniewski, Charlee Pniewski, Aaron Tafelski, Andrew Tafelski, Michael Parkinson, Nickolas Parkinson, Zach Parkinson, Kaitlyn Parkinson, Hunter Parkinson, Jacob Parkinson and Makayla Parkinson.

Great Grand-children, Ben Vargas, Elliot Vargas, Francis Vargas.

Siblings, Robert (Pat) Millikin, Pauline Hatfield, Marcy (Bruce) Burkett, Louella (Mike) Fallon, Penny Millikin and Connie (Mort) Schiff, Kathy Parkinson, Kim (Denise) Parkinson, Kay Ann Lucksted and Jeff (Jean) Parkinson. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Virginia Millikin; brother, Floyd Millikin, mother-in-law Ethel Parkinson; brothers-in-law, Roger Hatfield, James (Jinx) Parkinson, William Kenyan and Orlin Lucksted.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Grayling, MI from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Jerry Hunko officiating. There will be a luncheon following the services at the church. Following services, Marian will be cremated and a burial of cremated remains at Elmwood Cemetery will commence in the spring.

Condolences can be shared with the family at www.sorensonlockwood.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in memory of Marian Parkinson.
