Jerry Duane Rose, 90, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Grayling Munson Hospital.
Jerry was born on May 26, 1933 in Pontiac, Michigan to Percy and Ruth (Riley) Rose. He grew up in the Waterford area, graduating from Waterford Township High School. On June 18, 1956 in Port Huron, Jerry was married to Gracia D. Black. He worked as a Precision Tool and Die Maker for General Motors before his retirement. The couple moved from Waterford to Houghton Lake 20 years ago. Jerry was a member of the Houghton Lake Elks, and the Houghton Lake Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry’s passion was going to his Merritt area property where he did gardening, along with tinkering and fixing everything he could get his hands on
Surviving Mr. Rose are his three sons, Gregory (Kathy) Rose of Waterford, Kerry Rose of Houghton Lake, and Kevin Rose of Lowell; two daughters, Kimberly (Ricky) Danton of Waterford, and Cheryl (Mark) Schasser of Croswell; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Gracia D. Rose.
Chapel Services for Jerry Duane Rose will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday January 16, 2024 at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 14, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry are asked to be directed to the family.
