George Vincent Dubey, 76, of Omer, formerly of Bay City, passed away on January 20, 2024. The family will greet visitors between 2 pm – 6 pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, with a service at 6 pm. The family is grateful for the attentive care provided by Niche Aging Center and Careline Health Group Hospice to George in his final days.
George was an avid card player with a love of Euchre. Anyone who has played the game with him likely has a vivid memory of his competitive energy and fervor for the game. George enjoyed deer hunting, and he was a “jack of all trades.” He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service in November 1996.
He was born to the late Vincent Dubey and Evelyn Dubay in Bay City, Michigan on July 29, 1947. He is survived by his children: Victoria (David) Smith, Vincent (Angela) Dubey, and Amanda (Gina) Dubey-Zerka. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Joshua Smith (Kennedy), Andrew Smith (Kristyn Schuhmacher), Danielle Soave (Aaron), Celeste Reed (Alex), Evelyn Zerka, and Remington Zerka, along with his great-grandchildren: Chloe, Delila, Jayden, Sterling, Cheryl, Dawson, Bentley, and Archie. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Denay. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Rosebohm.
