Carol Card

Carol Louise Card, age 75, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on April 3, 1948, in Holly, MI to Bernard and Sylvia (Neubecker) Card.

Carol graduated from Rose City High School in 1966. She enjoyed caring for the neighborhood children, leading Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, bowling, gardening, and planning events of family and friends. She was the face of Kid’s Workshop at Home Depot for many years and a huge support for the Veterans of Ogemaw County.

Anyone who crossed paths with Carol received a smile and a reminder that on Monday she was marvelous, Tuesday she was terrific, Wednesday she was wonderful, Thursday she was thankful, Friday she was fantastic, Saturday she was satisfactory, and Sunday she was super!

She is survived by her children: Kendall (Melissa) Hayes of Indianapolis, IN, Gwenda Hayes of East Tawas, MI, Benjamin (Karen) Hayes of East Tawas, MI, and Jennifer (Matthew) Moore of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Wren (Colin), Robyn, Abdel-Kader (Jackie), Jacob (Megan), Peyton (Van), Sherman, and Mallaki; brothers: Roger (Margo) Card, Jim (Janice) Card, and Jack (Kimberly) Card; sisters-in-law: Kathy Green and Jean Card; many nieces and nephews that will forever remember their “favorite Aunt Carol.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Glen Schuyler Hayes, and brother, Kim Card.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held later this year.
