Marie Lee, 93, of Oscoda

Marie B. Lee, age 93, of Oscoda, MI, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville, MI. She was born in Black River, MI on December 14, 1929 to the late John and Anna (Gauthier) Lavigne. Marie was a resident of Oscoda, MI for over 70 years. She started out as a cleaning lady, cleaning the bank where Myles Insurance is now, the Bell Telephone building by the beach and a few houses around town. Marie then spent the next season of her life devoting her time to raising and caring for her children. When that job was done, she served as a cook with Oscoda Public School Systems for many years. Marie enjoyed cooking, often for her very large family and friends, as well as tending to the flowers in her garden. She married her husband, Roy Lee on June 25, 1949. Marie is survived by her children, Doug (Linda) Lee and Lynn (Dan) Gary; grandchildren, Kristeena (Ed) Gray, Jamie Schott, and Demi Gary; her great-grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Zoephel, Holland Gray, Samantha (Ben) Schott, Jacob (Breille) Schott, David Williams, and Richard Schott; her great-great- granddaughter that is due in June and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Larry, Henry, Francis, Irene, Jeanette, Betty, Wilbur, Philip, Phyllis, Leo, Paul, Ernest, Emestine, Norman, and Geraldine.
