Larry Wistinghausen, 84, of Houghton Lake

Lawrence “Larry” J. Wistinghausen, age 84, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at The Villa of Rose City.

Larry was born on April 22, 1939 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Henry and Marion (Diehl) Wistinghausen. He served in the US National Guard. Larry was married on September 16, 1961 in Wyandotte to Jean Kiszela. He retired after 38 years of working at Great Lakes Steel. The couple moved to Houghton Lake in 1997. Larry was a member of the Houghton Lake Sportsman’s Club, past member of the Houghton Lake Lake Association where he served as President from 2002-2004. He enjoyed making fishing lures and going on rides with his wife.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; Jean Wistinghausen, sons; Jeffrey (Paula) Wistinghausen and Glen (Gina) Wistinghausen, grandchildren; Ashley, Jeffrey II, Nicole and Scott, great grandchildren; Haylie, Laylah, and Payton. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Henry, Ronnie, Dennis and Margaret.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
