John Richard Pfeiffer, age 67, of East Tawas, MI passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. He was born in Pontiac, MI on February 23, 1956 to the late Rudolph Lewis and Josephine Ann (Kosek) Pfeiffer. John graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1973 and went on to attend Northern Michigan University.
During his high school years, he was a competitive athlete earning the “Golden Helmet” in football. John was an active member in the Tawas Community and served on the East Tawas Fire Department for many years. He was currently working as a design engineer at Kalitta Air. John enjoyed camping, kayaking and traveling to Florida to spend time with his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Joshua (Erika) Pfeiffer and Aaron Pfeiffer; step-children, Amanda Smith and Kevin (Stephanie) Eschenbacher; brother, Tony Pfeiffer; sister, Kathy Gurley; grandchildren, Maité and Logan Pfeiffer; fur-babies, Sheeba and CoCo and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Geri and Ann Marie and brother, Paul. John will be missed and loved by all those who knew him.
