Gerald Kenyon, 97, of Atlanta

Mr. Gerald Wayne Kenyon of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on December 28, 2023, at the age of 97. He was born in Gregory, Michigan on November 21, 1926, to the late Douglas and Lorna (Dutton) Kenyon. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. On June 11, 1948, he married Edna (Thompson) Kenyon and together the couple celebrated 72 years of marriage before Edna’s passing in 2021. Gerald was a member of the Montmorency County Conservation Club and served as Briley Township Commissioner in the past. He owned and operated Kenyon’s Small Engine Repair. His hobbies included both hunting and golfing, as well as time spent with family. Gerald is and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, Vicky Weaver of Atlanta; Gerald (Mary) Kenyon of Bridgeport; Greg (Barb) Kenyon of Oxford; Michelle (Ron) Weaver of Waterford; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Lorna Kenyon; wife, Edna; son, Grant; and grandson, Grant Wayne Jr. 

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held for Gerald at Briley Township Cemetery in the Spring.
