Dolores Mains, 89, of Hale

Dolores Sadie Mains, 89, of Hale, MI, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in North Royalton, OH. She was born on August 14, 1934, in Detroit, MI, to the late Louis and Bader (Khoury) Kassab.

Dolores attended Eastern High School in Detroit and began her career as a medical assistant to Dr. Taylor. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, watching old movies, gardening, and decorating her house. Dolores had a strong bond with her family and treasured spending time with them. She also had a passion for shopping and loved driving her car around.

Dolores was a loving and devoted mother who always put her children first. She had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals. Dolores was a fiercely protective person, always looking out for those around her. She found solace and inspiration in her church and enjoyed reading a good book. In her younger years, she loved swimming and driving with her sisters around town.

Dolores is survived by her children Gil (Michelle) Mains Jr. of Toledo, OH, Michael Mains of New Port Richey, FL, Melissa (John) Gremm of North Royalton, OH, and William (Jennifer) Mains Sr. of Waterford Twp., MI. She was a cherished grandmother to Gil III (Lacey), Khoury (Courtney), Maxx, Mara, Mary, Michael II, Christopher, Sadie, Sabrina, William II, and Leila Louise, and a doting great-grandmother to Hudson, Gavin, Veronica, Charlotte, Francesca, and Sebastian. Also her loving sister Oriat Peters and loving brother Harold Kassab. She also had a special niece, Marie Carpenter, who was like a daughter to her, not to mention all of her nieces, nephews, and extended family members will all tell you she had equal love for all.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gil Mains Sr. in 2009, and her siblings Fred, Charles, and Esther Kassab.

A visitation will begin at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI on Saturday, November 18, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. Procession to the Logan Township Cemetery in Hale, MI will follow the service. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Alzheimer’s and Memory Care charity.
