Marion Cunningham, 81, of West Branch

Marion Lee Cunningham, age 81, passed away October 2, 2023, in West Branch, MI. He was born on June 22, 1942, to James and Willie Mae (Schalles) Cunningham in Trenton, MI. Marion joined the United States Army in December of 1963. After serving his country, he continued his education by attending college and earning a bachelor’s degree. Marion married the love of his life, Suezann Lyons on September 24, 1988. He worked as a tool maker for The Chrysler Corporation, Trenton, MI for 38 years. Marion or “Papa” as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren, was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him great joy. Marion was a kindhearted and loving man. He was a great cook and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue; their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and 4 brothers, and grandson, James Lyons. Services for Marion will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, at Judson Baptist Church in Prescott, MI. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and end the time of service at 12:00 pm. A luncheon will follow at the church.
