Margaret ‘Kathy’ Miller, 86, of Rose City

Margaret “Kathy” Kathleen Miller, age 86, passed away at her home in Rose City, MI surrounded by her family. She was born on September 11, 1937, in Detroit, MI to William and Elizabeth (Maguire) Gorton. Kathy was a Rose City resident for the past 46 years, formerly of Milford, MI.

First and foremost, Kathy was a hard-working devoted mother to eleven kids. She was always very protective and proud of her beautiful bunch. She enjoyed family gatherings and traveling to visit her children.

Kathy loved God, gardening, gambling, and a good game of rummy. She loved the color blue, lobster rolls, and reuben sandwiches. Her sweet and sassy personality was loved by anyone who had the luxury of meeting her.

She is survived by 8 children, Glenda (Darrell) Bradley, Danette Miller, Joseph Miller, Regina Milne, Betty Miller, Dan Miller, Theresa Barker, and David Miller; sisters Patricia Tway and Mary Lee Harvey; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two children Pamela “Tami” Marie Piorkowski and Karen Ann LaPlante, her husband Dan Wayne Miller, and siblings Fred Gorton and Artie Gorton.

Visitation will be at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.
