Betty Marie (Coppinger) Knoellinger, age 96, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023, in Rose City, MI. She was born on August 4, 1927, in Bay City, MI to Ervin and Wanda (Barber) Coppinger. After graduating from Bay City High School she attended college for 2 years. She married Ernie Knoellinger on July 7th 1945. Betty enjoyed crocheting but her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hale, MI. She taught confirmation classes at Christ Lutheran Church for 33 years, served as Director of Social Ministry for 17 years, and served as secretary as well as treasurer of the Ladies Aide. Betty is survived by her children; Ernie Knoellinger of South Branch; daughter, Kathy Hauck of Little Long Lake, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Jacquelene (Oscar) Helmreich of Birch Run. In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lenora May Funt and Violet Scott; daughter in law, Margaret Knoellinger, and son in law, David Hauck. Services for Betty will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale, MI. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and end at the time of service at 11:00.
