June McGregor, 88, of Rose City

June Marie McGregor, age 88, ended her earthly journey on October 10, 2023, at her home in Rose City, MI surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her. She was born to Forrest and Iva (Killingbeck) Stevens on June 20, 1935, in Saginaw, MI. June was the first of 5 children. She lived a long, happy, and productive life.

June graduated from Waterford Township High School in 1953 (Waterford, MI). She worked for a few years in the Pontiac area before following her family to Lupton, MI. She met her husband, Jesse, while working as a secretary at Larry Kaye Company in Lupton. They spent close to 60 years together developing their homestead in Rose City, while sharing and raising 8 children. Their legacy includes 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

June was a homemaker, and created many beautiful pieces of art through quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She also worked with her husband to run the Standard Oil home fuel delivery service, as accountant and secretary for nearly 20 years. She also was secretary and treasurer for the Rose City and Lupton Fire boards for many years.

June is survived by children Dale (Karen) McGregor of Moultrie, GA, Duane (Sharon) McGregor of Greer, SC, Jane Sundberg of Rose City, MI, Dana (Rebecca) McGregor of Cadillac, MI, Ruth Allor of West Bloomfield, MI, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Huff of Milford, MI, and James (Valerie) McGregor of Rose City, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and siblings Carol Zadow and Neal Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jesse, parents, daughter Jeannie Simmons, granddaughter Tana Allor, sister Elaine Jones, and brother Dale Stevens.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose City Cemetery. Chaplin Victor Schreffler will officiate.
