Donald Lee Welser, 86, of Grayling, MI passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at his home.
Don was born on June 4, 1937 to Harold and Marquerite (Talmadge) Welser in Mt. Clemens, MI. He married Lydia Davison on December 26, 1964 in Rock Island, IL. Don really enjoyed hunting and fishing. He started the Red Coat Roundup for the Grayling area and even served as a county commissioner for 4 years. Don loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lydia Welser; children, Lesleigh (Mike) Mannell, Wendy (Ed) Bombrys, Renee Stephens, Greg (Michelle) Welser, and Jayson (Toye) Welser; 11 grandchildren, Austin (Chrystina), Brianne (Mike), Ryan, Kylie (Zach), Keith (Sophia), Eddie, Paul, Kevin, Laran, Connor, Bodie; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaiden, AJ, and Lana; brother, Jim (Marilyn) Welser; and nephews, Randy, Ron, Eric and Christopher.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Marguerite Welser and his brother, Hal.
Visitation will take place Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 12:30 PM at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.
