Anna Nash, 74, of East Tawas

Anna Marie Nash, of East Tawas, passed away peacefully at the Medilodge of Tawas City, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, age 74 years.

Anna was born in Tawas City to the late Clair and Vivian (Paquette) Nash on March 6, 1950. After high school graduation, Anna furthered her education by attending Central Michigan University where she earned a Masters Degree in Special Education.  In 1973, Anna went on to begin her long professional career as a special education teacher at Westwood Heights School District (Hanady).  Throughout her years as a special education teacher, Anna was blessed with so many opportunities to influence and positively impact young children’s lives.  She was able to step away from her teaching responsibilities in 2015, and given the opportunity to enjoy her well-deserved retirement. 

Anna was a strong Christian woman with a deep faith and a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in East Tawas.  She absolutely cherished the beauty of nature and the outdoors, and Anna was gifted with a musical talent to play the piano.  She enjoyed attending musical plays and relaxing with a good book to read.  Anna was an animal lover and throughout the years, she welcomed many cats into her home and raised them with loving care. During her working career when Anna resided in Flint, she always looked forward to attending dinner gatherings with her close circle of friends.  Anna’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Anna is survived by her brother, Carl and wife Charla Nash of Cantonment, Florida; numerous cousins and dear friends; and her beloved cat, Jet.  Anna is preceded in death by her mother and father, Vivian and Clair Nash; and a brother, William John Nash.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life with a memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church in East Tawas on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Her friends and family will gather at the church that morning from 10:00 AM until the time of her service.  Anna will be laid to rest in the American Legion Cemetery in East Tawas next to her family. 

Memorial contributions in Anna’s memory may be made to either the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Tawas Animal Shelter, or to the Women’s Heart Association.
