Ron Kimball, 75, of West Branch

Ronald James Kimball, 75, of West Branch, MI, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 11, 2023.

He was surrounded by his family. Ron was born on Saturday, August 21, 1948, in Jackson, MI to Gale and Winifred Kimball. Ronald, also known to his buddies as Ronnie, Shatter & Twiggy, was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Ron was a kind and generous person, known for his storytelling and sense of humor. He had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Ron was a graduate of West Branch High School, class of 1966. He was a truck driver for Chadwicks in West Branch. He later owned and operated Kimball Glass, alongside his father, brothers, son, and grandson, from 1956 until his retirement in 2017. Ron was a lifetime member of the Masonic Temple Lodge 376, where he proudly served as the worshipful master three times.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed coaching the West Branch Little League and All-Star teams. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and enjoyed playing cards with his friends.
Ron found solace and inspiration in watching Faith Alive Church on Sunday. His faith was an important aspect of his life.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Kimball, his son Ward (Lydia) Kimball, his daughter Nikki (Tim) Cassavoy, his daughter Amanda Williams, his brother Greg (Annette) Kimball, his brother Steve Kimball, his brother Jeff (Kelly) Kimball, his grandchildren Gale (Maria) Kimball, Connor (Allison Zettel) Cassavoy, Paxton Owens, Jesse Williams, Chazz Williams, and his great-granddaughter A’Rósá Ann. He was also deeply loved by his loyal dog, Jack.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Gale & Winnie, grandson “little buddy” Evan & his sister in law, Laurie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at the Faith Alive Church in West Branch. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Masonic Lodge in West Branch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald J. Kimball Family.

Ron Kimball will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family and community, and his love for life. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
