Joseph Hollenbeck, 85, of Twining

Joseph Patrick Hollenbeck, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2023, at his home in Twining, MI. Joseph was born on March 17, 1938, in Turner, MI to Oliver and Myrtle (Meikle) Hollenbeck. He graduated from Arenac Eastern High School and worked as a blacksmith for 62 years, retiring in 2018. Joseph married Bridget Ruckle on April 1, 1982. He enjoyed working with mules, horses, and hunting with his dogs. He is survived by his wife Bridget, children; Rick (Lil) Hollenbeck of Twining, MI, Denny (Deb) Hollenbeck of McKinley, MI, Sara (Jeff) Gale of South Lyon, MI, Pat (Diana) Hollenbeck of Denver, CO, Brenna(Amos) Miller of Twining, MI; brothers, Jerry (Martha) Hollenbeck of Midland, MI and Jack Hollenbeck of Midland, MI; sister, Donna Thompson of Florida; grandchildren, Scott, Marc, Justin, Joel, Josh, Sasha, Myrica, Briana, Alexis, Casey and Staci; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Michael “Jim”, sisters; Leota, Grace, Mabel, and Bev. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or the National Kidney Foundation. Per Joseph’s wishes cremation has taken place. No services are planned currently.
