Carlene Simrau, 92, passed away peacefully at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born to Henry and Mae Simrau on October 30, 1930. She worked at Nick Schultz Restaurant and the Pratt Lake Nursing Home In Gladwin. She later moved to Houghton Lake where she worked at the Brass Lantern Restaurant for many years then at Dianne’s. She loved to play Bingo, listen to her police scanner, and go ice fishing in the winter.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Donna Dionne of Port Arthur, TX, Carol (Don) Schott of Bay City, Edith Bennet of Bentley, brother: Richard Simrau of Gladwin, and sister: Norma Ward of Pinconning; along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Merl Krueger on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Butman Twp. Cemetery, Gladwin. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
