Lifelong Tawas Resident Succumbs
With great sadness, the family of Susan Marie (Ulman) Anschuetz announce her death on August 27, 2023. Susan was born August 28, 1951 to Albert and Marian (Klinger) Ulman. Susan was first a stay-at-home mom raising children and working on the family dairy farm with her husband, Charles. In the early 1990s, Susan became, first, co-owner, and then owner of Marbie’s Nutrition in Tawas City and was a successful businesswoman for more than 25 years before officially retiring in 2018. Susan spent much of her time babysitting her grandchildren. Susan was united in marriage to Charles Herbert Anschuetz on August 30, 1969. To this union, 5 children were born: Melanie (Scott) Barnes of Whittemore, Hans (Nirva) Anschuetz, Albert (Jennifer) Anschuetz, both of Tawas City, Greta Anschuetz of Hamilton, NJ, and Peter (Laura) Anschuetz of Tawas City. In addition to her children, Susan is survived by ten grandchildren: Samuel (Kristin), Darby (Theodore), Preston, Madelyn, Kenniah, Halanna, Otto, Clara, Rudolph, and Eva; her mother, Marian Ulman of Tawas City, 2 brothers: Andrew Ulman and Benjamin Ulman. In addition to her beloved husband, Susan was preceded in death by her father, Albert Ulman, her sister, Marcia Ulman, and brother, Todd Ulman. Per Susan’s wish, the funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. James Catholic Church at 202 E Sherman St, Whittemore, MI 48770.
