Abigail Dern, 3, of East Tawas

Sweet Abigail Rose Dern passed peacefully into Heaven on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023. She was 3 years old.

While her earthly journey was short, this sweet princess displayed and taught others how to authentically love.

Sweet daughter, your love is the greatest gift I have ever received. It is unconditional and selfless and has changed more lives than you could imagine. You express this beautiful love through your eyes and smile and these qualities speak louder than words.

Abigail was born on Dec. 03, 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA and with her family, moved to Michigan in August 2020. She was looking forward to starting her second year of preschool with the Bay-Arenac ISD program where she LOVED all of her teachers and the school system.

One of Abigail’s many gifts was teaching others how to face their struggles with grace. Through her difficult times, she was a fighter and never gave up on a challenge.

Her greatest joy in this world was family time with her mother, father and twin brothers. In addition to sing-alongs with Cocomelon and Moana.

Abigail’s love captivated all who she encountered as this gentle soul radiated a beauty that was able to bring people together. You will always live in the hearts of all the many people you touched.

Her life will forever be celebrated by parents Michael and Laura Dern and brothers Lucas and Nicholas Dern, grandparents Richard and Mary Budd and Ronald and Karen Dern. In addition to several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitors will be received in celebrating sweet Abigail’s life on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 5-8pm with a Rosary service at 7pm at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore Street, Tawas City, MI 48763.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 1 at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 516 W. Lincoln St., East Tawas, MI 48730 with full burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Tawas, MI.

Parents welcome flowers, gifts and contributions made in Abigail’s memory.

Sweet Abigail Rose, pray for us.
