James M. Peddy, age 85 of Grayling, Michigan, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Crawford Continuing Care Center in Grayling, Michigan on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
James was born in Lakeland, Florida on October 25, 1937 to Albry and Margaret (Crosswy) Peddy. He worked at Lakeland Memorial Hospital as Maintenance Manager. James moved to Mio in 2005, living at Mack Lake. He was a member of the Emma Lowery Church in Luzerne, where he played organ. He enjoyed making stained glass and playing piano and organ.
James is survived by his children: Albry Peddy of Pinellas Park, FL and James Peddy, Jr. of New Orleans, LA; his stepdaughter Joyce (Marv) Stearns of Luzerne, MI; his stepson Dale (Diane) LaDuke of Fowler, MI; his sister Jane (James) Schwering of Vero Beach, FL; his brother Joseph (Eunice) Peddy of Lakeland, FL; his grandchildren: A.J., Christina, Rene, Emily, Garrick, and Chad; 4 great-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen Peddy, his stepdaughter Lillianna, and his brother Jack Peddy.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
